This weekly blog is brought to you by the Kustom King Clothing Company. As the owner of this line, I have accumulated a tremendous amount sneakers and I have recently decided to write about them; give you a little insight on their uniqueness, their fit, as well as their design. As evident, I am very personal with my brand. So please, if you have any questions or requests, email them to me using the address provided below or contact me on my personal instagram @bakedzeetus.
Air Max Plus Premium "Swimming Pool"
I have returned! I know a lot of people have been questioning my blog whereabouts but I am alive, hanging in there on my last stretch of my freshman year in college. I am currently surrounded by the weeknd's "Starboy" album hoping it will help me get more work done. So far, it's this blog post so why not get into it? Nike's air max design has always intrigued me and we all know I constantly go through this "I will never buy shoes again" phase. But I saw this Swimming Pool edition and thought oh my god, this design is so unique! I know when the original baby blue satin color released, I missed them but not this time! This shoe for whatever reason actually made me realize that my right foot is a half size larger than my left (could also be the lack of arch support). I usually see thing like this in older customers who try on performance sneakers at my job but never on myself. Maybe this is a sign. On a more merry note, Christmas 2016 is coming. Which means Yeezy season is coming. Which means Space Jam season is coming. Which means PREORDER season is at its best for me at this moment. Just to provide a quick overview of the shoes I will be doing pre-orders for within the coming two weeks: Jordan 11's (Space Jams), Kyrie 2 "What The" (all white and green glow), Triple white special AF1 (men sizes only), Wool Jordan 3's and the red velvet Jordan 11's. If there are any additions or exclusions to this list, they will be posted on my personal Instagram I promote everyone to contact me through @bakedzeetus. Happy belated Thanksgiving.
NIKE X PENDLETON SFB 6" BOOT
New York City in the winter is nothing like it seems on google images or gossip girl episodes. Central Park isn't that pretty, the streets are never lined with pearly white snow and Manhattan city cabs are very much less likely to stop for you on a busy corner. This is why I copped the NIKE X PENDLETON SFB 6" BOOT QS from Kith. I've actually never seen these boots anywhere else across the city which is usually why I always start my shoe shopping at the Kith store where I always find the most unique and newest designs. A little product quality details on these, they are a lightweight as well and heavy duty material sole material shoe. The overall material does not seem to be waterproof but we'll go for a test drive the next time it rains in the city. So far, I am definitely feeling them. In other sneaker news, the Nike SF AF1's dropped yesterday at 10 am while I was in the middle of my business law course. Of course that didn't stop me. I copped a few rather than just my size so when they arrive in the mail, I will definitely be writing a new and exciting post about them. And for my last side note, if you were unable to cop the GINGER JORDAN 4's, please contact me through email or my instagram @bakedzeetus so that I can put you on. Thanks for reading guys and thank you for bringing to a total of 8.3k reads. Enjoy your weeks!
Satin Air Jordan 1
Long story short, the shit is gone. There were only 501 pairs produced and one word hit hype beats, they were literally cleaned off of shelves at the Nike store based in NYC (Wooster St.) First, clearing any controversy, there were 501 pairs. Not 500, not 499. Side note to high snobiety, get your facts together before you excite buyers. Of course this pop-up only lasted one day. The amount of anticipation as well as their resell value would've had me in line pushing and skipping as well.I really don't know remember what I was doing during this release. Probably secluded in a phase of release after a terrible detach from a demon child. Also referred to as the typical young male who has yet to get their life together. Ladies, If you read this blog, count your kicks and get your money up. These men can wait. If you were planning on picking these up from a resale, these Ebay sellers aren't going under 2k so good luck. If you find them any cheaper, flip while you can.
Triple Black Air Max 95
Who would've ever thought that black on black would make a come back. Well, I've learned my lesson from copping my triple white NMDs and from here on out will invest in a PROPER waterproofer. These shoes need to be a classic. I know, I know, all air max 95's are classics but this specific color way needs to be invested in. Foot locker has this terrible habit of uploading incredibly unattractive photo of every sneaker ruining the experience for buyers like me who're way too lazy to show up to the store. Unable to be hands-on with this shoe, I already know from the look of it, I need to be picking up the male rather than the female design of this shoe. The female air max has always been lower of course, wayy below the ankle making the sole look fat since ill assume all of the material is condensed to down there? Whatever. Long story short, I am very pleased with this unannounced release of triple black. Leave your comments under my upcoming instagram post for your favorite releases from 2016 and I will feature them on my next post! Bless up.
Ladies and rarely gentlemen, welcome the bright orange Nike Epic Lunar Flyknit to the family. What a great fall shoe for fall seasonal occasions (of course referring to my favorite sock material). I wouldn't call this one a bang for my buck, but within my last few posts, I have been on the search for newer and less common sneaker designs. If that means I wear basketball sneakers without playing ball, so be it. In all honesty, I am not a Nike performance fan. I can go into great detail to express how much support their training shoes DO NOT provide but I'm not here to complain about my flat feet am I? Alright, after getting these shoes out of the box and onto my feet, that thought of "these look like damn moon shoes" immediately left my mind. They are actually comfortable. There's support all around no matter where you land. You better believe I will attempt jogging in these moon babies this coming weekend. Are they worth it? ehhh I'll update you all within the next few days. Until then, enjoy your September youngins.
Nike Woven Inneva
I'm getting tired of saying "they're back or they're re releasing". Where is the originality and ACTUALLY limited sneakers? Please, if you know any new brands with sick designs and need that little jump, I will support them. I am aware of the luxury brands featured in Barney's and Sak's Fifth Ave but come on, I work on a biweekly paycheck. Where am I really going with $800+ shoes on my feet? Let's focus on the featured kicks to the right: The Nike Woven Inneva in black is not a new shoe but for me, these shoes are just a new find. I've always been a detail person and this overall woven material is just what I need next! Again, please, if you have any new brands for me to check out, contact me on my mentioned above email, I will research them and maybe take part in the new wave. Here's to new beginnings *clink clink*
Unrelated, but as I sit here and listen to an old Ellie Goulding song "Burn", I reminisce about how wack and gladly, drama free my summer has been. As I enter college this semester, I will probably be a little less active on this blog than I am now. But I would love to hear from you guys! Please. Whether my personal instagram DM or my email mentioned above these posts. Everything is appreciated to those who have recognized my hard work between 2 jobs, artist management, and a somewhat personal life. The feedback is AMAZE-BALLS. As the summer comes to a close, I want my total 16k+ readers to remain positive. Positivity and uplifting reminders on my wall are the only things that keep me going. On that note, let's grow together and hit up this upcoming re-release of which I've copped already. I saw these Triple White NMDs posted initially on SneakerNews' instagram about a week ago and I was immediately just like "not again.." Should I cop another? I doubt it. After this impromptu trip I've been planning to recuperate myself before the fall 2016 semester, Lil mama is damn near broke. The pair that I do own now, I was lucky enough to get the last of my size at the Foot Action located on 14th Street 4-line. (Yes, I am NY based) These shoes are cool, I guess. But that's not what you want to hear. You want to know about the sock resistant sole, this all white silhouette of a sock and most of all, the price range for these bad boys. As every sneaker head knows (I sure hate this terminology to describe those love shoes), FLIGHT CLUB IS WHALLING with this $225. But to each his own. The release price is exactly one hundred fifty dollars aka $150USD. The sole: You gotta see this up close and personal to even experience the visual technology on these shoes, I promise you even with my flat feet, these shoes still find a way to form fit to my dogs. Also, about 2 weeks ago, I dropped a little bit of shrimp sauce on them so if you know a great shoe cleaner for all white mesh sneakers, slide in my dms. No set ups please and nothing over priced and over rated. Wrapping things up.. I will be back! Very soon.
Pffft. And they say female sneaker OG's are dying out.
Just this past week, I was networking and came across an ignoramus who assumed that it was impossible for a female much like myself to have a heavy interest in sneakers "especially if ladies cant even get their purses together". Please remain in 2011 Daniel. Don't hurt your brain too much trying to figure out how I work 2 jobs, go to school and still find a way to uphold my sneaker interests. I might even be your new hero. On to an even better story; I have not been excited about Reebok's instapump fury design since the Chinese New Year edition dropped in 2015 with the suede upper in a beautiful cream and coral colorway. To the right, is the Reebok Instapump Fury in the Merlot shade which I strongly recommend for your fall 2016 wardrobe. This design consists of a minimal amount of splatter compared to the other million brightly colored designed options. Priced at $170 at HBX, THEY. ARE. WILD. These shoes are not exclusive, they are far from sold out on the original Reebok website for $40-$50 cheaper depending on your shipping and color option. They tried it. The instapump fury has always been all about DETAIL and it is definitely evident in every new release and I respect it, Reebok. The design is different, the sole is fascinating and we won't ever forget this pump technology right on the tongue of the shoe. Get yours like I'm about to cop mine this weekend!
"Red looks better on you, honey"
Welcome to the "evolution". Personally, I am not feeling this ultra boost uncaged design. I've heard remarks like "the every day yeezy". You have a point; If the "every day yeezy" was to be a ripped off replica design of the original 350s. To each his own. They look way too much like Nike Roshe's (minus the sock material of course). This color on the other hand has its advantages and the addition of a colored sole has changed my perspective just a slight bit. Maybe it's the way that I look at it. There's this phrase "If you can not change the situation, change the way you think about". Maybe I am looking at this the wrong way because I have reached my upmost limit with flyknit sneakers and I am ready for whatever is NEW! Summer is almost over and the sock has reached an end for me. The name of this shoe is: The Ultra Boost Uncaged Red if you need a better view aside from the one I provided. I am not impressed but try not to let it ruin your weekend if you blew near $117 for these bad boys.
"Are we there yet?"
I am making another sudden come back to this secretly thriving blog that I continue to neglect but to my faithful followers constantly asking what's up with Kustom King? I deeply apologize. My blog should be transformed into a pity party page for the amount of times that I apologize for falling off. Do you remember my previous post about me being pissed off about missing the first NMD City Sock release in the U.S.? If you don't, I suggest you scroll down a few icons and catch up! You wont be able to fathom my undying excitement right not when I tell you that they. are. back. Set to release this weekend July 8th, to be exact! So woah, this color way was never what I expected. Especially because I just copped the Nike air presto ultra in "bright mango" (that color title is hilarious by the way), I assumed that I was going to be FINISHED with flyknit material. Yes! it is amazing and yes! it is lightweight but little mama was ready to slow down on her shoe game, buying and selling and begin a new endeavor on food tours. You've caught me Adidas. These are a "bold silhouette" of a shoe, you've caught me there; but lets hit the REAL dilemma approaching with the NMD collection which seems to be selling amazingly so far. This non-primeknit black and white pack with "the brand with the three stripes" printed across the shoe in a variety of different languages? Little mama's not feeling it. I've never been a fan of mid-laces so I'll assume that is why I am not agreeing with them but great job Adidas. I am in love with this summer's creativity so far and am extremely anxious to see what'll make me give away my life savings next!
Yeezy Season Pt. 2
I've been off tremendously! Or have I been hiding to build myself for this huge come back? Honestly, only god knows. On to the shoe. Its white. Its summer. The release date is in August so please start stocking your pockets now. I find it almost impossible to cop another pair of yeezy 350's. Not only because of how heart wrenching it is to even find a valid raffle but entirely because of how many fake pairs I have seen recently among both my peers and those who I take a sneak peak at on public transportation. I find it exciting in business at the same time! If your product is exclusive and valuable enough to deserve a replication then shit, you've impressed us all in the profitable world. But no. I won't be looking forward to this release, only what Kanye's potential may be for the following update. Enjoy the weekend bloggers.
So Nike, you're telling me that I have been searching up and down for these Nike Sock Darts since 2014 and ended up paying $205 about a month ago for a beautiful baby blue color and you wait until Spring 2016 to make them available on Nike id for only $170? Yea, I am over it. Anyway, Nike ID has released this option to customize your sock darts in any color way you desire. I probably will not be participating in this amazing opportunity because I am still a little pissed off by my loss of money. Overall, these shoes are amazing. No lacing difficulties, sock like material created this beautiful breathable comfort especially for the upcoming summer season. They're sheek, pretty classy in my opinion, but look into them with more detail on my instagram @bakedzeetus
Adidas EQT Oddity Luxe Pack
Of course I am a little late with this release which dropped in select stores a few days ago on the 6th of May. What a great way to begin the spring in NYC as the weather finishes up it's abnormal behavior. These kicks are all about visionary. Don't cop if you're not into details because without a great pair of glasses, they look like simple training shoes. They consist of a mix of ostrich leather, snakeskin, suede, perforated nubuck and more crap we can't identify unless you're ready for a lengthy debate. I strongly recommend them; Just not the pink and red colorway. Those are a catastrophe. What I'm really looking forward to is the re-release of the Adidas Original EQT F15 OG Pack. I'm in love with almost anything with rope laces. Enjoy your weekend sneaker heads!
They're free! What more can I say? Exclusively for our blog and social media followers; we're just giving them away. Did you make a purchase within the last 3-4 business days? You've got them coming in the mail along with your amazing merchandise. Just cruising through our instagram? Send us a personal message and we'll ship them right to ya! Found out about our cool new giveaway by accident? No fear, it's your lucky day. This offer ends May 15th, 2016.
Y-3 Kyujo Low Sneakers
A little background info: Did you know Yohji Yamamoto is 71? No. Did you also know that he only got into this industry a little less than 13 years ago. That means that at 58, he established Y-3 through Adidas. I'm pretty sure if Nike didn't deny his designer creativity a little over 10 years ago, they would be on the rise of millions like Adidas is now with Yamamoto's line. The Spring 2016 featured here is a little new for me. When I first saw them, I immediately said "I'm not feeling them". Like who adds 3 dimensions to sneaker soles? Oh yea. The Y-3 design team. The more I inspected these shoes (first on the Saks Fifth Ave 3D website then in person), the more I realized it's intricate design. WHAT A PERFECT SUMMER SHOE! It's like a chancleta but for your entire freaking foot! Then they added a mesh foot design with a shoe lace-less following. The leather lining and equal distribution of color brings out it's individuality; as intended of course. The sole is all white, engraved with the Y-3 trademark in the back and bubbles? These aren't your usual "action feature" as I've mentioned before but the insoles are heavenly padded so be grateful.
Collect 'em All
This weekend, I was a maniac. I've been feeling to begin a comme des garcons collection as their hype begins to die off and then bring them back next fall. Then I found out that there were literally only 3 pairs left in store across the entire New York City. So I bought all of them. Yes, it took all day. Yes, that means I bought an unnecessary number of sneakers. Yes, this means that I am a little bit of a sneaker freak. But I am sorry little soho boy living in the upper west side of queens. I am dedicated. This shoe's simplicity alone was mind boggling. I thought to myself why exactly am I paying $115 for a heart on a white canvas of a shoe. And then I realized, I was the product of my environment and a slave to the manipulation in the fashion buying and selling world. Just this week, I was reading up on one of my favorite idols, James Jebbia, the founder of Supreme Clothing. And then it hit me, the exclusivity of these sneakers made them more desirable because who really wants to look like the man standing next to them? Well at least not myself and someone with about the equivalent amount of confidence, if not more. Don't mind me. I plan on wearing ALL of them. One on Monday, the other on Tuesday and the third on Wednesday then I shall return to my usual Adidas SL loop. Sorry for the delay my readers.
Damn Kanye! Back at it again with another Yeezy retsock. Of course not directly through Adidas again or I would go wild but there are alot of large streetwear places doing countdowns to restocks of which I have entered every one of. The yeezy 350's have always been a personal favorite of mine but the resell prices range from $800 to three times my rent. My new favorite by yeezus would have to be the recent 350's featured in Season 3's collection with the accent bright red stripe. When I find them, I will frame them. Hear more about the release dates on my instagram at @kustomizeking or my personal @bakedzeetus
PEACE OF SHIT HAT
Inspired by a close friend, this silhouette of a hat is set to complete any basic outfit this summer 2016. Finally being approved for adidas sponsoring felt amazing this weekend so here's the preview of our hat rather than an upcoming sneaker release. As I angrily type, I am still deeply affected by how extremely quickly last week's release of the Adidas NMD City Sock sold out. I've literally been waiting for them since Christmas. Who knows, maybe its a sign for me that there are better releases from Adidas soon to come that I should prepare for. They always seem to impress me. But yeaaaa.. This hat? It will be up for pre-order this week for $45. After our first few shipments, the retail price will boost to a whopping $55. Stay tuned and look out for different angled photos on my instagram Bakedzeetus.
Adidas Tubular Doom-Special Forces
Adidas! We meet again. Personally, I admire this brand the most out of any other for both its affordability and versatility. Yes, I do use that word a lot to describe the craziest things but here, Its real. About 2 weeks ago, I approached the Adidas tubular design as "just another wannabe yeezy" you know, like the ones they store in the men's section at Aldo with the low quality design and same ole strap covering the bridge of the foot? Yea, those. I never expected them to make this turn and transform into something I would actually see myself in. About a few days before the release was when I took the time to properly evaluate the amazing detailing on these. There's spandex, like a matte material following, rope laces, the sock material covering your ankles (my favorite) and then a clean finish with a white bottom. With this new design and put together, you'll never have to worry about a shifting tongue when you walk or skip around which I do a lot myself. I love 'em! This color especially is flattering and easy to put together with outfits with the spring weather on the way. Check my blog this week for spring outfit grids and on-foot pictures with these Tubulars! @bakedzeetus!
Kobe 11's 4KB
To be released in one more day, these multicolored Kobe's should go out with a bang. They're different. And for a while, I've been obsessing with purchasing the Kobe 9's masterpieces because of their versatility as well as their scarcity. Knowing myself, I'll wear them with pride because not a lot of people have them on hand. Let's return to these 11's. The white back drop makes them eye popping. Have you ever realized that on white sneakers, it is so hard to see the smallest particle of dirt because they're so bright? Maybe it's just me because I neglect to wear my glasses 4 out of 5 times of the week. On these particular sneakers, I adore the change in material where necessary. The unique leather swoosh, followed by the flyknit material body and then the classic sole. It works, you know? I wouldn't change a thing on them. I'm not used to Nike working with a lot of flyknit material. Only on the mainstream air force ones which feature for around $175. Stick around for these 11's which release March 14th, 2016 and according to Nike, they're $220? Ridiculous but they are fabuloussss!
Aldo ZELDEE Sneakers
Happy Weekend! As promised on my many platforms of social media, I am presenting a pair of uniquely designed sneakers from Aldo. I would've never guessed. I am always in that store for boots and have never walked out with a pair of sneakers. I wouldn't call these "affordable" but if you're plan for the next few seasons is to stand out, this is where you should start. So first, my favorite part about these shoes is the peek-a-boo aspect. No, your toes are not out! So if you're a bunion person, YOU ARE SAFE! What is out is.. your heel, as well as about two spots on the top of your foot. I have no idea what part of the body that is called but just imagine it and bare with me. When I tried them on in the store, I had on black athletic socks which saved me and looks pretty casual if you don't want to feel the breeze through the gaps. Another amazing aspect of these is the sole! it breaks a part right in the middle of the bottom giving it this Chanel sneaker vibe (on my wishlist but $2,000? sheeeesh) On the black color way, which is what I purchased and in the featured image, the sole is invaded with a black and red splattered design which works, you know? I wouldn't imagine these shoes with just a white bottom. Maybe a little bit of ice like they put on newly released Jordan's would be nice. But they're cool I guess. Over priced, but I wouldn't recommend them as a "go-to" shoe. More videos of me playing with them and chatting on my personal instagram: @bakedzeetus!
WOOD WOOD vs. Adidas
Today is the day!.. for a while, I have been struggle with a phrase or hashtag to use when posting on promoting my post. So here goes: for new sneaker pick ups, I'll call them "Sneaker Grabs" and for premiers or releases, I will title my pieces "DJ Review". My creativity with these names are super basic but it is what works, right? So, about the sneakers. We all are a little familiar with the ultra boost design but what we aren't aware of is this Danish company design. The highsnobiety has titled these the "big bang" but I disagree. They're more like the combination of the Nike sock darts and classic ultra boost. So, no. These sneakers will not be posted for sale at Kustomizeking.com. But yes, they are available for sale at the Wood Wood website where everything is oddly in euros. If you can convert it, you can purchase it. El Oh El Wood Wood. I expected moreee! Their other projects and street wear motives are amazing but to be frank, these bad boys aren't cutting it. Again, Follow my personal instagram for up close pictures and stay updated on my next sneaker find. Happy last few days of February!
Filling Pieces Quilted Red Low Tops
Readers, meet Filling Pieces. Filling pieces, meet.. sole searchers. Filling pieces originated as a European brand dedicated to luxury design and high quality quilting. Often compared to balenciagas, Filling pieces designs authentic sneakers with a wide variety of colors for a little more than the price of the popular Yeezy's. (Retail, of course. Because apparently, some ebay resellers, think it's okay to promote a shoe for almost 2k). Featured in this image, BEHOLD! The Sole Series for BNY Men's quilted low-top sneaker. The interior design is incredibly comfortable and perfectly padded. The exterior has a single colored sole which screams basic! The lacing is incredibly unique and the tongue design is very noticeable and praise worthy. My only problem with these amazing pair of sneakers is it's ability to crease. Don't get me wrong, I am not the perfect person at sitting in one place but when I try, the back of my heel creates sometimes wedges and wrinkles between the material. Maybe on future designs, they'll transform this material into something a little more sturdy? Who knows. Maybe. Hopefully. 'cause $290 plus shipping is bread.
Grey Grid's 9000
Wrapping up on my personal collection wheel, I am showcasing one of my classic kicks. These Saucony sneakers are actually a little bigger than I expected. I bought them during the fall of 2015 in a size 9 which means these sneakers run a size and a half larger than necessary in men. The color way and white soles make these sneakers super versatile and eye-popping. Usually, when I think about saucony, I think.. Running. You know? like the worn out running sneakers that the old ladies sport to target? I'm pretty sure that I am not the only one who thinks so. Saucony has outdone themselves with this summer 2015 release line. The price range is tremendously affordable and as anticipated, these sneakers will be available for purchase at kustomizeking.com on February 19th, 2016. I want you all to try on these shoes and imagine yourself fulfilling a week long thirst because this is exactly what this shoe design will do to your wardrobe. Mentions of these shoes as well as on-foot photos are on my personal instagram: @bakedzeetus!
Honestly, I expected more from this release. I did not purchase this specific colorway yet in person, this red and blue detailing looks very plain. Maybe the lighting and filters on online release images make them seem more appealing but I went to purchase these and ended up leaving with the gray and black combination. On the bright side, the technology for these sneakers is amazing! Shock resisting and high quality knitting absolutely caught my attention with these bad boys. If you're looking for quality along with a sheek and unique look for a hipster outfit, you've found it. I am aware that my last few posts have been dedicated to the Adidas brand and this might change for next week's update or sneaker snatch. Please be advised that these shoes are currently sold out at the Adidas website but you can reserve them and receive updates through my personal instagram: @bakedzeetus Stay tuned ya'll.
Y-3 QASA HIGH
I'm back! With a section of adidas that I'm pretty sure you've never heard of before. Y-3's! One of the most stylist diverse and most expensive pair of shoes that I will ever place on my feet. They are comfortable for one, and this specific pair is very bold in its color. It's elastic over straps make the design VERY unique with a little bit of leather in the back. It's worth a few of my bi weekly paychecks from Walgreens so I do recommend them for either a daily wear as a designer but a once in a while event fit as well. This specific style will not be available for sale at Kustom King Clothing Co. because of limited stock but more on feet pictures will be on my personal instagram: BAKEDZEETUS
Adidas NEO + Running Shoe
First post yet not my first addition. These shoes were designed by Selena Gomez, the now irrelevant singer well known from Disney Channel. So first thing, these shoes are extremely comfortable. They have memory foam which I love for my granny feet. I promise you it feels like you're walking on clouds. Almost equivalent to when you smoke weed on an empty stomach. Something I wouldn't know about. Next, Boom, Is the color. It's striking which is what initially brought me to buy these. My plan is to wear these with tights? Nope, too basic. That's another amazing thing about these shoes! They're versatile. Just not like a lace front. Personally, I have been searching for a pair of every day running shoes like the white girls who go to school on 86th street in the city, on the 4 line. I've always wondered how they wore the same shoes every day without the fear of looking "familiar". But ALAST! My search has ended and I am satisfied. These sneakers have been scheduled for purchase at kustomizeking.com's shop page on Wednesday, January 20th, 2016! Bless up ya'll.
